What type of billing errors does Option Energy find?

There are many variables on each utility bill. Some mistakes are plain to see, and some are formulas that are internally calculated, of which you only get to read the final computation. We look for incorrectly applied rates and tariffs that are regulated by state authorities, such as riders, supplements, demand charges, revenue taxes, power factor charges, cost per unit charges, (kwh, kvar, ccf, therm, etc.), securitization charges, service fees, actual vs. estimated meter reads, and any other special charges.

How often do you find mistakes on bills?

Option Energy finds about half of the bills we analyze with billing errors on them. If any errors are found, we will be able to get you the appropriate refund.
